LUCANIA. Poseidonia. Circa 445-420 BC. Stater (Silver, 19 mm, 8.08 g, 5 h). ΠΟME[S] Poseidon striding to right, his left arm outstretched, brandishing trident with his right hand and with chlamys draped over his shoulders. Rev. ΠΟΜΕ[S] Bull standing left. HN Italy 1116. SNG ANS 655. Beautifully toned. Struck on a somewhat irregular flan from slightly worn dies and with minor die breaks on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
